Looking for a unique adventure? Wonderspaces in San Diego offers some dazzling entertainment to your eyes and imagination. The pop up arts celebration offers “sixteen unique experiences, ranging from room-sized installations to virtual reality films and including works previously enjoyed at Burning Man, Sundance Film Festival, and SXSW.” It does not disappoint. I’ll admit, I originally wanted to go to the Museum of Ice Cream in LA, but tickets were all sold out. I didn’t even know Wonderspaces existed until I stumbled across it in someone’s insta story. Tickets were only $20 for students (I still have my old college ID), or $24 for adults.
I think my favorite installation was one titled The Last Word. Hundreds of tightly rolled pieces of paper within the honeycomb chambers of a cardboard wall. Anyone can write something down and insert it into the wall. A secret, a confession, advice, etc. Funny story about this wall…I walked up to it and the first piece of paper I pulled out read, “Your pink lipstick looks tacky…” I happened to be wearing pink lipstick. lol. What are the odds? I had to laugh.
The gallery is open in San Diego until July 30. Go check it out for yourself before it’s gone! wonderspaces.com
